A small kennel with a big heart — and a deep love for the Australian Shepherd breed.
Our story
Cloverdale Australian Shepherds began the way most great things do — with a dog obsessed kid (me) and an obliging parent.
We're a small breeder based in Northern California. We don't produce large numbers of litters — we produce carefully planned litters every FEW years, with the goal of placing exceptional dogs in exceptional homes. Our dogs are successful and compete across various sports including: conformation, obedience, rally, herding, agility, barn hunt and dock diving. They are also great couch potato pets when needed.
Every dog at Cloverdale lives in our home, sleeps on our furniture, and is part of our daily life.

What we believe
Health first
We test every breeding dog for the conditions most relevant to Australian Shepherds — hips, elbows, eyes, and key genetic markers. No exceptions.
Temperament matters
Structure and color are secondary to temperament. We breed for dogs that are confident, gentle, and deeply connected to their people.
Lifetime support
When you get a Cloverdale puppy, you get us — for life. We're always available for questions, guidance, and as many photos as you can share please!
Honest matching
We'll tell you if we don't think we're the right fit. An Aussie isn't the right dog for every family, and we'd rather have that conversation early.
Affiliations & standards
We are members of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) and follow the breed recommended health testing protocols. All OFA results are publicly registered.
